No, I don't race CX but I did buy that type of bike a few weeks ago for road riding. I'm a rather larger than average fellow (around 350) and the stock wheels have held up so far but I know they won't last for long.
My question is what set of wheels should I look into getting once these are toast? I'm not a weight weinnie so that's not an issue but I'd like something stout and I don't want to spend an outrageous amount.
Would a good touring wheel fit my Tricross?
I'm not fat. That's a fuel tank for the love machine!!!

Fireball- you shouldn't have any problems fitting touring wheels and tires and in a Tricross, I think those have plenty of clearance. As far as a new, bombroof wheelset, I would think that you could get some wheels built with some mid level mtb hubs and narrow 29er rims built up pretty cheap and indestructible. Talk to Bill Crank at Pedal the Planet. He built me a 29er set of wheels for my mtb that are great. They have only been trued once in almost a year and that was my fault.
