When and where will we be able to find race results?
Yesterday's opener didn't have any information for us? They seemed kind of stressed, but all in all it was a great day!

Yeah, that wind did not make running the event easy, and I'm sure the picnic didn't help either. I raced the Masters 3/4, and then stayed to watch the Cat 3 Open, but then had to fight the wind home to Louisville (the youg-uns were restless). I thought they did a great job running the event considering the challenges they had. From what I ran into on the drive home, I'm thinking the wind got even worse after we left, so I hope they were able to keep things under control for the last race(s). I know I helped chase down a bunch of registrations in the wind at one point. It sure was great to get back to racing, though. I assume we can just look for results at bikereg.com here soon. Are we also going to post them on ovcx site? I never did see the updated points chart for 2008. Is that coming soon? Will there be a point we move the forum discussion completely to this forum so we don't have to keep an eye on both this and the Yahoo Group? DR |

As soon as results are available (hopefully very soon) they will be posted on the Race Results section on this website. I'm sure you'll also see them on Truesport and BikeReg as well. Our power went out last night in most of eastern Cincy, so there's going to be a short delay I would imagine.
Memorable race yesterday - incredible turnout, I think it was something like 230 riders. |

"Kind of stressed", ya! Thanks from ZWS/Cyclesport to everyone who came out to the race, the turnout was awesome. Things were a little crazy at times due to the turnout and epic conditions for the later races but we were trying our best to keep things safe and smooth, hopefully there weren't any major incidents that I wasn't aware of. It was quite a scramble keeping the course clear during the A race but good practice for facing my yard when I got home.
I don't have any inside info on results but I'm sure Ryan will get them out as soon as possible.

Hey Cameron, thanks for posting Jeff's pictures! Man I should get an Oscar for that grimace!
Kudos to Ryan and the organization for holding it together with record entries AND craaazy weather! I had left just before the elite race, planning to return to help with break down - only to find downed tree mayhem in my back yard!
Not surprising the results aren't yet up, we just got power back here in Madeira a couple of hours ago (Tuesday).
Cheers, Mr C. |

Any idea if these are final? There sure seems like there are a whole lot of DNFs. Did that many people really not finish?

looks like they counted 'lap down' and DNS as DNF....
they also missed placing my teammate in the 123 Master's race (they DNF'd him in the Master's 3/4 race) -
I had registered for both Cat 3's and Masters 123 - but skipped the second race... as one in that heat was enough!

| Who do I email about the results. You guys have me in 9th in the 35+ 3/4. I finished 5th overall in the entire 3/4 field (open, 35+ and 45+) so I think I might be a bit higher in the 35+. I also saw some team mates listed ahead of me that I know finished behind me. |

| Guys, the beginner results are a clusterf*** at the moment. The results are not final: they are still working on sorting out the lapped riders. |

Thanks. Should have checked that myself.
Mitch - also thanks. I figured. I emailed them my overall finishing position in the hopes that helps them sort this out. |

Gang, excellent day out there for a race. Nice work on the course layout this year. The hill was ride-able and fun. Your course help was diligent getting tape and stakes monitored and watching cars on the way in and out. The timing chips were nice, very pro and a big bonus. A few comments/questions: 1. I am guessing you took the results down? maybe I am blind, but I don't see them anywhere? 2. With over 50 guys in the 3 & 4 races, why were you paying only 3 deep? Not that I would have won anything, it just seems, hmm, well...odd. 3. Will you have more than one person registering and taking pre-reg in the future. I would just like to adjust my arrival time at every race - if it will be 45 min to get a number. 4. Will you have a better announcement speaker system in the future? I am sure you are on a tight budget but, that sound system was not very nice or useful - yea the wind was blowing but, my car stereo is louder. thank you guys and gals for all your hard work and organization, I/we all appriciate your efforts and time to put on a race of this magnitude. |

I believe the thinking is that if you want more than 3 deep swag -you need to race up ---- giving prizes to a 3/4 field would encourage sandbagging--- already a very popular pastime..... I could see sweetening the upper categories though if attendance continues to be off the hook.....

Oh and BTW.
AWSOME RACE GUYS. I've been involved in several CF Mountain Bike races and it is a living H... Before, During & Especially Afterwards. I think the venue was amazing and the wind was amazing and and and ..... anyway. You get the picture. GREAT JOB. One suggestion would be to let it RAIN with the Wind. That would have been true CX!
OH. Where do I find the pictures? I know I have a couple Nasties on there. |

Guys, go easy on the organizers and be patient! I helped gather wind scattered reg sheets when a strong gust hit, and I'm sure there were other events that made keeping track 'challenging'.... Let's remember that the people who put this on don't exactly get rich for the privilege - they do it for the sport and us! If anyone has a nicer PA system to donate, I'm sure it would be gratefully accepted! The strong wind made for very difficult conditions all around. Thanks again to those who helped, and those who are expressing their appreciation here! Mr C. :-) |
