Hey Aweful, be aware that the USGP was pretty tight on racing your licensed categgory last year, so unless you upgrade prior to that you may be stuck racing the 4's for that weekend. But you definitely don't belong there, so I suggest you do a couple of the 3-open races and apply for your upgrade. |

| I that will depend on the promotor. As Duane mentioned the USGP is pretty tight - you pretty much race your CAT. Other races are a little "loose" on the CATs. So, if you're thinking about racing 3s at USGP race in the 3/4's or 3's now and CAT up. For most of the local CX season being a 3 opens up most categories, 3/4, 3, 3/4 masters, 3 masters, 1/2/3 Elite, etc. The only thing you would be shut out on would be open 4 and UCI 1/2 |

Like Steven said you can race Cat 3 in any OVCX race with a 4 on your license, except for the USGP events (for reasons Duane stated). That is taking for granted that you have an annual NORBA or USCF license. You can't race Cat 3 on a one-day temp license (stupid USAC rule). |

TJ, Nick,
You guys don't belong in the 4's. Both of you belong in the 3 race at a minimum. You can upgrade to a 3 after 5 starts. I suggest you guys double up.....race both the 4's & 3's to get starts and a better feel for where you belong. If you are really driven you could get 3 starts in one day.....4's, 3's and Masters (or Elite) 1/2/3. But try that too many times, the guys in the 4's (and 3's) will get tired of your sandbagging and stack you up in a corner to make a point. |

| I had a great time at my 1st cross race this weekend. I'd like to give Duane a big thanks for letting me use his bike and for keeping an eye on my bike (haha). I am on the hunt for a bike of my own. Hopefully by that big race in L'ville next month. |
