I just started back after 8 yrs and am stuck on a '97 Schwinn Mesa because it was what I could steal off my brother. The fork is a RST 161B with about 1" of travel. It might as well be solid. Is there any place to find cheap used forks in Louisville? Does anyone have one they'd part with cheap? Steerer tube is 1 1/8".

I've got 98 (?) Manitou MARS. 80mm fork. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking about 7" of steerer tube. (You need to measure the length of your bike and see what you need.) Well maintained (not owned by me long), and works fine. $30 obo.

Sounds like a good deal. I'll check the length when I get home and get back to you.

7" should be enough. Problem is, my setup is a threaded setup. I'm not sure if there's anything besides the stem that would need to be changed out as well.

I dunno. I'm not exactly sure what a threaded fork is. |

You wouldn't happen to have a stem to sell as well?

I'm still interested in the fork if you don't have a stem.

I'm brain dead. Been running around in TN for two days and I forgot to check for ya. I'll look tonight. I doubt if I'll be up your way anytime soon, but I'm racing the tri at cave run aug 2. If we can find someone from the ville attending, I'll send the fork (and stem, if I have one) your way. When I get the fork to ya, then you can mail me the $. I could also drop the fork off at any bikeshop in lex, if you know anybody that might be heading that way. |

Cool deal. I'm not in a huge rush, so it's no biggie to wait. I didn't even realize you were that far off of Louisville.

Still need this??? If so I'll throw it in my truck today. I'll see if I can get it dropped off at a shop in the ville by someone.

Well, I staggered out of the house at 4am, and forgot the fork. I'm pitiful! PM me your address, and I'll see if I can get it out to ya.
