I just finished building a 2005 KHS XC604. I cant get the shifting to work right in gears 4,5, and 6 on the rear cog. One time shifting is great the next time it will ghost shifts or not at all. My derailers, crank, and chain are new so nothing is bent or wore out. I added length to cable housing to the rear derailer and that didn't help. To me the alignment looks good. Any suggestions??? This is my first full suspension. Hardtails are a piece of cake to set up.

check for kinks in the cable or the housing. a slight bend in the cable can cause your problem.

I had something like this happen on my 604 and it took some fine tuning of the barrel adj to fix it. I had all new cables, cassette, chain, XTR der and it pissed me off for a week or two and it was the barrel adj. all along.
