Thank you Kymba!

The trail maintenance volunteers of Ben Hawes State Park / Rudy Mines Trails has received official approval from Frankfort to construct a sustainable reroute that will bypass a major fall line trail. This would not of happened without the help of the local parks management and the assistance of Kymba's Mr. Mike Dulin.

Mike was gracious enough to prepare a detail work plan. We submitted this work plan along with topo's to the local land manager who then forwarded it to Chief Naturalist Cary Tichenor. It is my understanding that Cary was impressed with the detail and professionalism of the proposal and with good word from BHSP Superintendant Kevin Logsdon, approval was granted.

With the recent assistance at Mammoth Cave and the ongoing planning at LBL, this is just another example of example of Kymba reaching out and becoming a state wide club. Thank you Kymba, Thank you Dulin!

Looking forward to cutting some new trail!
Richard

That's great news, folks!! Nice work Richard - what makes it even sweeter, the work you all have done is becoming a model for new trail development at other parks around KY. BH State Park is being help up as the "right way" to do trails. Congrats to you all - let's keep the momentum going!!!

Excellent! Thanks to everyone involved in this success story!

I couldn't agree more with this assessment of the "new KyMBA." Our affiliation with KyMBA and Mike Dulin's personal involvement have proven to be invaluable resources to our group's efforts on the new trail projects at Devou Park in Kenton County and AJ Jolly Park in Campbell County.

We really, really appreciate it!

Breezer.... sorry for not responding any sooner. As far as I know, if they raise the money its still a go. Not too concerned as I've been told it will have minimal effect on the trail. The mail loop is too the north.
