OH CRAP! I shouldn't have posted about my riches. Some hoodlum maybe waiting at the end of my road waiting to mug me. Now that I think about it this tax rebate is bad. Dang Republican President! The democrats would never give us money back and I would not fear for my personal safety.

I take my $1200 and invest it wisely with OCGuy. He makes more money, and decides he needs to upgrade his bike, so he takes $2400 and gives it to Molnar. Molnar does the upgrades, and with his increased income needs new web hosting, so he invests $3600 into Rico's organization. Rico now takes $4800 and buys a month's worth of Keystone beer.
In this way we all win.
Or we could just tax the crap out of everyone. |

Relax. If Obama were president it would be $8 a gallon by now, and you'd think that was a good thing so we would all cut back on our consumption.
BTW, Obama opposes the gas tax holiday. McCain and Hillary! support it. Obama is really out of touch with the working man. You can thank him later. |

Heck if gas goes 8.00 a gallon. I.m still glad to get the extra money in my account. Soon I will go limping through WalMart and if I don't do that. Here is plan number 2. I may ask the bank teller to give me my rebate in 1 dollar bills. Put it in a plastic garbage bag head to the White Castles at lunch time and make it rain.

I would only make money for people like you TWL.
The "others" would get a 'sorry' note and blame it on Bernanke. It's all his fault for not bein' a good guy like Greenspan an' leaving interest rates @ 0% for another ten years so we can all buy cheap gas on a dollar worth 100 Euros.
And $4800 is only going to last Rico 2 weeks on Keystone. He's gonna hafta go Shaeffer to last a month.

| I think it's funny, after years of paying taxes, and the runaway pork-barrel spending that goes on and on, that we actually think we are "getting something back". Seems to me they are just taking a little less. If they really want to "give back", how about looking into exorbitant spending, salaries, riduculous benefits and retirement packages that politicians receive. Just their perks alone would probably make up many times what most of us earn in a year! |

Since it is obvious this thread is going that way.....
It was funny watching Rod on the Today Show this AM talking about how she would make BIG OIL pay for their EXCESS profits.
1) define "EXCESS" profits (anything over a couple making $109 milllion over the last three years)? just wonderin'
2) watcha gonna do about the blue haired ladies living off of the dividends from those EXCESS PROFITS ?
3) why do you think it is the government's responsibility to tell ANYONE what to do with their money when it can (with a straight face) call a bunch of IOU's from the Treasury department a "TRUST FUND"??
