People maintain that race does not play a factor in their distaste for Obama, but I find it doubtful that so many people would hate him if he were O'bama the "articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking" average white guy of Irish decent.

I can only speak for myself.
This time last year I was intrigued by Obama. He was new and spoke of post-partisan politics and that appealed to me. I thought if anything his race was a plus because, hey, let's face it, after 8 years of W we're all ready for something new.
What bothered me was his associations with leftists. If you're a leftist, that won't bother you a bit, but I came to the conclusion that with that AND his very left-wing voting record that I would not support him because he is, well, a leftist.
I think you lefties need to cool it with this "Vote Obama or you're a Racist" crap. I believe you are capable of setting race relationships back a generation by ginning up that kind of hatred.
BTW, the most appealling candidate (other than Palin) I've found in the last 8 years was......Alan Keyes. Yes, I was a Keyster. |

I'm not really a lefty, but I think race will play a factor. Some of these Republican rallies, whether intentional or not, seem to stir up some feelings that are hard to justify.

Link's observations:
1. Anytime someone calls in to a talk show and says "I've been a loyal Republican for 25 years but...", they're a Democratic operative.
2. More often than not, "independent voters" at townhall meetings and debates are Democratic operatives (they've already caught one operative from the last debate).
3. There is no such thing as a black "undecided". I'm sorry, any black who says he just can't make up his mind yet is blowing smoke.
4. Isolated instances of abberant behavior at Republican rallies are more likely than not Democratic operatives.
5. Your mother is a Democratic operative.
6. I am a Democratic operative.
7. If you ride out at Waverly at night, you will encounter many Democratic operatives. Most of them were recently registered as voters by ACORN.
8. Your pet dog is a Democratic operative.
9. I could go on, this is kind of fun. Santa is a Democratic operative. The Easter Bunny is a democratic operative. My car is is .. kasdkfj;ahkga'salkjf aughhh!

Listen MEK, An Omama presidency is going to kill us in the pocket book. I can't hemorrhage that kind of money.
However, as an undecided independent voter who is not a leftie but....I'd suggest a counter bet. If Obama wins you pay me $10, which I will take to buy some cheap vodka with which to self-medicate until the acute pain passes.
If McCain wins, I pay you $10 (although intertrade would put that at more like $12.50) whcih you can take to PetWorld so you can buy a whole cage of gerbils. |

The sad thing is that the lefties keep pulling the race card
and
I know alot of lefties and more than one of them have said they "will not vote for a n-word" and will "vote for McCain so there isn't a n-word in the white house".
I know alot of the good guys to (conservatives) and haven't heard that from a single one.
For being the party of "acceptance" a bunch of lefties sure seem to be racisit hiding behind a blanket of hypocrisy.
