Man what a weekend. Perfect weather, perfect trails. Big Thanks to all the folks who made the Younger's race a first class event. From real time scoring to great swag bag and lets not forget the payouts. Great turn out. if you missed this one you should kick yourself. The pro short track was a big crowd pleaser.

Man...I dont remember any local races where the fans lined the course so thick...wow! Much less with the ecstatic enthusiasm of these spectators...I'm sure the picture doesnt do it justice. I wish I could have seen the action!!
I heard Anthony rocked the house this weekend...congrats Anthony!
I came out earlier Saturday for the TT, I was the first to launch off for the weekend, what a great privilege for my first effort on the bike in years. My re-welded fully rigid jamis half functioning race rig held together for the 25 minute lap I put in. I didnt even think about doing another lap. I figured if I could barely hang on for dear life (as the terrain was not the friendliest for no shocks), I figured a second lap might yield itself to a treacherous ending with a search party looking for a lost badger. Talk about arm and hand pump, yep I was feeling it big time!
I did love the venue..great trails and from what I could tell things were ran very professionally. Look forward to coming out to some more KYMBA races, as well as entering a full xc race, and I might even get a shock and a functional middle ring next time.

| That was a great event, totally worth the trip down from Northern Ky. Awesome course, those climbs were tough! Great Job! |

| Perfect weather, organization, and trails. Too bad my bike decided to do the ol' "rip the rear derailleur off trick" right after I was done with the seven dwarves on lap 2. That is a first for me though so I guess I had it coming. Just wish it wouldn't have been during a race. Oh well. |

| you entered as a sport rider and won that class I believe. You wouldn't have won expert class, you would have been somewhere in the middle |

Thanks for the info Rowbear. I felt fast but then again riding a fully rigid bike it always feels like your flying because you feel every nook and cranny on the trail as the bumps resignate through the steel tubes. Glad to hear I would have been in the middle of the expert field, I did not want to accidently be sandbagging. This was a great opportunity to see where I stood before doing a full XC race. I plan to ride a little more and get some more functional equipment before the next KYMBA race where I plan to do a full XC. It was just awesome to back on the trail. I really forward to actually racing side by side in competition very soon. |

| I've been having some lower back problems so I sat this one out. Which pretty much sucked being that everything was perfect about this race weekend. |

My wife will be at most of the KY Points races taking Pictures so she set up a Flickr account to post them. Here is the photos she took at Youngers http://www.flickr.com/photos/26137855@N08/sets/72157604779182366/ |

Ya, you know, like the one of you holding the check. ;o)
Thanks to Brian for getting my adrenaline flowing as soon as I stepped out the truck. I seriously thought we missed the start of our race. Good one.
Thanks to the sponsors and swag. I can always use another pair of socks.
Also, thanks to everyone that had me freaked out about "The Plunge". It was only about half as steep as I had pictured it in my mind. lol
@ Rico, take care of it bro. We'll see you at the next one! |
