I just wanted to beat everyone else to gripe. C'mon man, it's been at least a few hours since the race ended, why aren't results up? What do you expect people to memorize their own finishing position or something? GOSH!

| Just got back from Green River. It was sweet. The trails were great. only a few wet spots all rideable 99% of the trail was dry to tacky. Schworm won the Pro class. Good turn out considering all this race had working against it, ie Sat., The fear of mud, Thunder over Louisville and a road race in Louisville. I saw a Goose Creek jersey, Lots of Union College riders, Several Lindsey riders, One Scheller's guy, 4 Humana/Cafe riders, one Clarksville A-team rider, CKW had at least one rider and several other teams I can't remember as well as many self made riders. Hats off to Dave Grigsby and all the Lindsey crew for putting on a great race, course was really nice thanks to all their hard work, Awsome trophy's good swag and all round good vibe. Results should be posted Tuesday on the website. |

I'll keep it short and sweet. I suck, mud sucks, chain suck sucks, having a leg cramp sucks, 70+ MPH winds suck, seeing ants broke down 3 miles in sucks, deep creeks suck, cold weather sucks, I suck, but it was great to see everyone after the long break.
What rocks is Dave Grisby, the trail work they did after the monsoon rains rock, team river city cannondale they almost rock, I think they let some air outa ma tires, Rusty he almost rocks too ;), the pontoon of fishermen that told me to git r dun on one of the many ugly hill climbs rock, Kiersta's head against a rock doesn't rock, I hope your OK.
See everyone at Youngers. |

Actually I had finish line lube on the chain. I started using it after the rebuild, not sure If I'll keep using it or not, WD worked better. Used WD40 the last 2 years including both mammoth and duffield and never had chain suck as bad as I did at green river. That sand based soil felt like riding on flat tires the whole time.
Tires worked great I thought, given the poor conditions. Not sure where the hell Rusty rode at but I felt 99% of the trail was trashed not tacky. |

Thanks Everyone, and thanks to Squid1 on the other post. I want to send out some love to all you that came and raced. We had a solid turnout somewhere in the 50s. Chris Schmidt is finishing up the results with lap times as I type and we will have it in Rustys hands this morning. We got so many good comments from the racers that it made the whole thing a joy. I only wish you could have seen the trail one day prior, before the last big rain. It was so smooth, especially in the wash-outs. But alas... Tonybob is apparently now offering a towing service as he hooked Nano up to a tow rope and pulled the chainless wonder to the start finish. Talk about going above and beyond. I also want to send out a big thank you to River City Cannondale for the framed jersey. I bout teared up under the race jackets. You guys are phenomenal. The jersey hangs in my office now for all to see and I have another recruit coming in today I plan to show it to. Marc at Cumberland Cycles deserves the praise for the goodie bag. He is a great sponsor and supporter so stop in and check him out in Somerset when you are thru. Next year we will definitely be on board to do this again. It was just a great weekend and you guys helped both Kymba and the Lindsey Wilson Cycling program in our fundraiser mtb event. Rusty Sohm was great. Thanks for holding my hand as we set this race up. I have organized the Tour De London/State road and crit championships since its inception, but I found out long ago that attending a race and organizing a race could not be more different. So I leaned on Rusty a lot and he helped me out with even the dumbest of questions. We werent flawless by any means. Even with 3 days of course marking by different groups to ensure we had all possible alternate trails closed, we still managed to get 2 sport riders lost who had to abandon their race. They were upset, but never harsh and were very understanding. I want to again apologize to them and promise we to do better next year. |
