I will be out there today to check the conditions and do any blowdown removal that we may have gotten overnight.

Yes, we definitely didnt get it like the Ville did.
Its still drizzling here off and on, but I honestly cant imagine a mudfest. The trail was too dry yesterday and we didnt get all that much rain.

Vega is headed to Greenriver right now to ride the course and he'll be calling me later this evening to give a full report on the entire race loop. Stay tuned.

I live about 30 miles from green river. It did rain hard for a little while early this morning, and we still have a light rain. It does not seem to have rained nearly as much as the western part of the state. Will this be the same course as last year? Yes, racing is addictive. This will be my third xc race. Last year I did green river (really cold), and park mammoth (really muddy). My goal this year is to do at least one race where is is both dry and moderate temperatures.

Well you've raced in 2 of all conditions of racing.  The next and final step for you is to race waverly in the 100+ degree weather and then you can say I"m hardcore... LOL

I don't want green river to be a repeat of mammoth last year, if so I"ll be a spek tater, as that race was a little fun it also sucked severly.

No, you gotta do General Butler when it is hot and humid and no wind!!

Yeah I'm gonna have to agree that Butler was worse than Waverly.

And if Green River got halfffffffffff the rain we got in Louisville all day it's gonna be a mudder.

Word from the trail head is it's wet, standing water for hundreds of feet in some places but it's not soaked in so your just splashing thru the puddles. Some spots are soft, mushy, slick and a few deep water crossings were your feet will be in the water while pedaling across it. Sounded more wet than muddy and I was told to come down it would be rideable for the most part. Hoping no more rain comes thru and the water can dissapate a little. Looks like it's time to pack up and get ready for the first race of the year. See everyone there.

Just got back from the final trail maintenance.
We drained many puddles and the sun came out and helped dry it up some.
When we got there at 1:00, it was much wetter than when we left.

Id say on a scale of 1 to 10
1 being an unrideable mudfest and 10 being bone dry,

we are at about a 5-6 right now.

Not much mud at all, mostly wet, hardpack.

The deep crossings have been cut in half as we drained lots of leaf dams and got water flowing correctly.

We are a go, come out and have a great time.

I aint skeerd of no mud. Can you imagine 6 hrs of driving overnite stay getting ready then not racing cuz you thought it might be muddy. Only a complete tard would consider such a thing.

bikecoachdave I would have to say has given the best ever trail reports leading up to a race. Everyone able to make the trip should have no problems with what to expect.
