Just that...why is there no ss category in the kentucky point series races?

To All SS Racers:
As you may know, I mostly ride SS too. Rusty is the KPS race director this year, and it was his call. Coordinating all of the races, sponsors, rules, etc. is a much bigger task than most people realize. It really doesn't matter why... but I believe that it was done to keep things as simple as possible.

Personally, I'm planning on racing my SS in the sport class at most events. And although I may not win any, I doubt that I'll come in last very often. I welcome the challenge, and nobody says that we (the SS racers) can't do something on our own on the side. Only problem would be that someone would have to organize it.

I'm open to any ideas... Here are a few of my own:

1. Each SS racer puts $5 in a pot, and at the end of the season (@Otter) the winner (most points) takes all.
2. Same as #1 except payout is in beer.
3. I will pony up last year's SS trophy if we all agree to continue passing it along every year (i.e. Stanley Cup).

Any takers?

there is no single speed class for the point series (i.e. no overall winner) but the individual race directors may have a SS class for that particular race.

As of now we are planning on having a SS category at the Ft. Duffield race. Subject to change.

If you choose to race the SS category at any KPS race I suspect you will receive no series points for that race. So if you care about how you place in the Series, don't race the SS category.

Umm.....Nick, you don't qualify for the Fixed Gear 69er Tandem Fully-Rigid co-ed Master's Class. You're not old enough to race Masters. You'll have to go with the Fixed Gear 69er Tandem Fully-Rigid co-ed Class.

I'm not a singlespeeder, but you do see more singlespeed riders. I believe there should've been a seperate category for singlespeeders b/c geared bikes have an obvious advantage, but I also see why it wasn't implemented. Oh yea, the stanley cup idea is great.

I agree.

If you win a Sport Race (any sport race) on a SS maybe it's time to move up to expert on a geared bike.
