well I knew it was gonna be a tough race. And it was. 30miles of unforgiving terrain. I think there were about 30DNFs. Results should be up in a few days once I get em from the OMBC crew. Big turnout and good food too. It's one of those races that when you finish you tell yourself you are never gonna race there again but a few days later you remember the fun you had and next year you return. I crashed alot and judging from the riders I saw covered in dirt and blood I don't think I was alone. Broken helmet $120, neosporin and advil $20 finishing the race anyway priceless. well actually another $25 but who's counting.

| I quit after 2 laps, I hate that place. I was way overheated already drank 3 bottles of water and sweated off a few gallons. For some reason many of my teamates and friends think it is the best place ever. I suspect they are into S&M too. Word is it was an OMBC record for DNFs. At least the monsoon on the drive home provided a free bike wash. |

| The trails at Caesars Creek must have been created before they invented fun |

what was weird was that I remembered those trails being fun. last time I raced there we went the opposite direction but I still don't know why I would have remembered that place as fun. I only found my flow in one or two sections out there. I also think that trail was created before bench cutting was invented |

There were parts of the trail that are fun.....they just get overshadowed by the rest of it. |

I like to ride my bike not push it up washed out cliffs and stuff. I've not liked it since it took a chunk of my knee last summer. Caesars had a tough winter it flooded really bad a couple times this spring and hasn't had the chance to recover. Probably just to rough and hard a course to race 30 miles on IMO. |

| a little love and a lot reroutes that place could be sweet. But I agree, locking up your rear brake sliding down a steep hill only to be greeted with a ditch, a 180 degree turn then stare straight up at a gully wash with a 40percent grade can get a little frustrating. |

i liked it the last year i raced there. it was hard and my back would barely bend afterwards and i even raced it on a blur classic. but it was a pretty decent course at the time |

C'mon ya'll, just 'cause Caesar whooped up on you, don't take it out on the trail. The elders tell me it hasn't changed much in the 15+ years since it's been around. Maybe it's not all pristine manicured IMBA singletrack, but that's part of the challenge. It's a great ride, especially when you have time to actually look around - like when you're NOT racing!
