Just settling in after another great race thanks to all the folks at the MtnBikeDepot. I will post the final results to the site as soon as I get them from HeadfirstTiming. Hope everybody had fun out there. I know I did. SWAG was very nice, I think most everybody got some fine merchandise. Good turnout and great to see some familiar faces out there with a number plate. Over 100 racers turned out to support the cause, enjoy some complimentary food from the grill as well as all the redbull, gatorade, bottled water, fresh fruit and all the fixins' Pro photographer Tom Moran was there to catch the action, I will post a link to his site soon.

| Yes Rusty is was a great race... I spoke to a few "out of towners" that said they'll be back, so that's good news. And thanks to you for all the behind the scenes stuff you did to make this happen! Mucho appreciado my friend. |

What did you guys think of having that hump in the beginning of the race?

Posted By Aweful Knawful on 08/10/2008 9:08 PM race was awesome. cramps were not:( I agree on both points.
At one point, very early on, I had the top three of the beginners in my sight. Course, I had went out way too hot out of the gate. By the time I got to Montana's, I was quite spent and had to walk which dropped me a couple of places. However, what was worse is my back was cramping for most of the rest of the first lap. I had to stretch right before the end of the first lap which helped greatly, but it was still a sub-max effort for the rest of the race. Overall, I am pleased with my results and even got a little sprint in at the end with another racer. Next time, I will be better prepared and reign in my early enthusiasm.
Lastly, if anyone found a Cycler's Cafe water bottle with orange gatorade in it at the table, hold onto the bottle for me. Thanks!

Probably depended on who you asked. If you asked the 3 or 4 people I lept past who were stalled behind a rider they couldn't get around, I bet they were p.o.'ed.
I, however, thought it was fun! |

Just a few shots from the race. The guy atop the "hump" drove from St. Louis and kicked all the experts ass.

| Luke had a bad day. Crashed hard broke the hydraulic line from his brake and had to drop out. |

| Thanks to Mountain Bike Depot and everyone who organized and made this race possible. I had a great time and plan to be back next year for sure. This was my first time riding at Waverly and the trail was a blast. The electronic scoring from HeadfirstTiming was cool and it was great getting the results that quick even if my finish wasn’t great or quick for that matter. Thanks for the hospitality and the merchandise it was greatly appreciated. |

Not really sure I would say he Kicked all the expert's asses. He was actually running 2nd until the forth lap. Not taking anything away from him, he was surely a strong rider but lets give props. Mitchell was on a freaking Single Speed registered as Expert. Silly Wabbit, sort of scary to think what his lap times would have been with Gears.
GREAT RACE to everyone and thanks for the time you guys put in to make it succesful.
PS: Did I mention I need a CX Bike? |

I'm "the guy from St Louis" but thats my teammate who won the sport 19-29 in the photo... Thanks to Rusty for being such a nice host and waiting up for us. That race was great. Everyone was super friendly, the course was rad and the food FREE food after was over the top.
I definitely didn't kick ass yesterday. Mitchell dropped my ass with that monster gear on the first lap. It was a really hard race for me. MEK, I don't think gears were the issue on a course with very little flat sections; pretty much all up or down. He was flying up the hills on the first couple laps and... I think his gear was a little too big and he didn't have the fitness to push it the whole race. Look at his lap times, he got quite a bit slower every lap as the race went on. He was walking the big hill on the last lap when I caught him.
Do you know who Jesse and Marko Lalonde are? Gears would not make them faster. They dominate the biggest race series in the States with SS's.

| Rusty, for some reason I'm not showing up on the results. I ran ss, flatted in the first mile, everyone passed me, fixed the flat and passed a whole bunch of people. I had to leave after the race, so I wasn't sure about the results. My plate #67. |
