I used to race 12yrs ago when I lived in CT. I raced the CT point series, and also the New England pt series. There are two things about the KY pt series that i find odd:
Why does the ENITRE class start at once? It seems like it makes it a cluster f*ck to get to the trail head. It used to start by age group in 1 min intervals. Say 13-18s go off, 1 min later, 19-29s go off.
Why are there no race results at the race? Are there just not enough volunters to get this done?
The two races i have gone to have been very well set up, and enjoyable. I appreciate all the effort put into these races for us, I just found these 2 things to be odd.
Keep up the good work for us guys! |

it used to be up to the race director if they wanted to send them all off at once or in age groups. I'm not sure of the new rules but the ky series isn't all that large of groups at most venues. If they started in age classes they would only be sending off prob somewhere in the 3-5 range each time. I'm sure as the series grows they will seperate it. from all the past races i've done in the ky series i think they have all had results posted somewhere (in paper format stuck to something). maybe the green river race didn't this year??? i can't remember. usually it depends on if they have access to electricity and a computer to print them out. hopefully one day the little ankle braclets will become the norm for the series and results will be out even faster. |

really? Cap view didn't, i asked the girl who was giving out the prizes, and she said "i don't have them, they will be posted online in a couple days." At EI i asked some guy if the results were posted yet, and he said they were never posted on raceday, only online. The only people who found out where they placed were top 3 finishers at awards. I have no idea who the guy was though |

I got to see them, they were hand written and kind of confusing though. A bunch of people were looking at them

| I know they are not always but they should be posted somewhere officially so everyone has a chance to protest if the results are wrong. once they are posted online all the prizes/trophies/swag are already given out and gone. I know the ky pt series isn't norba offiliated but I think they have a rule similar to this that the TBRA and DINO series follow. |

I had to try and unscramble running lists of up to 35 names organized by Race Bib # into age groups and placements and re-copy them onto something quasi-legible, all while being peppered with questions. I honestly don't know how I got anything at all posted up on race day. Next time, we'll be using computers and I won't be doing 95% of the pre- and post-race prep by myself!
Today I typed everything into Excel and emailed it to Rusty. The ball is now officially in someone else's court. :)

The E/I results are posted on the series site. Any protests are handled day of race with the race director. Feel free to email the site if you have any questions or concerns and I will try to take care of it.

I was probably so spent i didn't hear the announcement, thats why i didn't see the results.
One suggestion that may make your life easier: Designate certain numbers for groups, i.e, sport men 19-29 use numbers 100-120 sport men 30-39 us numbers 200-220
Not sure if that would help, but i recall it being that way when I used to race. To make it easier, you could hand write the numbers, then you only purchase what you need for that year, and use the leftovers for next year.
I just thought it might help organizing.

| Kentucky Point Series Totals have been updated. Things are heating up. Just a reminder, all participants must complete 7 races to be eligible for series final standings. 6 races to go. |
