Hello everyone! Hope all is well! I finally registered for the new KYMBA site after lurking for a few weeks. Has everyone received the info on the Youngers Creek race? Hopefully the turn out will be even bigger this year with all the prize money CKW/Swope is putting up for the time trial and race. Any reports on the condition of the trails? I know several of the CKW guys have been working hard on it. I have been busy with some other endeavers at work but I have set aside some time to get everything primed for a great race!

Brain, The info came in the mail yesterday (Saturday), I like that CKW send out info each year. Hope to get some time out there before the race, but as of now, things don't look good. I'll be on the road until the end of April, so race day may be my first chance to ride Youngers. We will need to link up for some trail time, but I'd also like to talk some business as well. I'll send you a email when things slow down a little for me.

I'm mixed. It was a cool early season kickoff last year, but the freeze thaw sucked, not to mention it would have been a rainy, mud-bog this year. But hopes of mid 70's and dry or tacky trails has me optimistic for the new date.

that was one of the reasons I was torn, I thought it was cool that it was the season opener but it caused some equipment problems last year plus the data entry was a little tough with frozen fingers.

Can someone tell me how this event counts towards the point series. I'm confused b/c it's 3 events wrapped up into one. There's the time trial, short track, and the xc race. What counts for points and what doesn't?

All three events count as points for the KyPointSeries. Same point format for all three.

I brought a rick of wood last year but it was pretty much the end of his winter stock. I will need to check and see if he still has any left so late in the wood burning season.

I have seen a lot of cut up trees around from all the recent storms, I will inquire next time I spot a pile (of wood).

I'll be camping as well, especially if it's this warm. Thanks for the info about the points system. Out of curosity how long is the time trail? Also how many people compete in all 3 events because it would kill me to try and do all 3 in one weekend.
