Anyone ever use one of these? I might do a 12 hour races next year and was wondering if these things are worth looking into. I know it won't make my hardtail like a full suspension, but could smooth the ride out some. The main thing. Will I be a geek if I have one of these on my bike?

A couple of the guys that ride the Great Divide Race (Canada to Mexico) use suspension seat posts. Seems like the way to go if you don't want to let that hardtail go.

Gonzo likes the version that looks like a shock absorber. He enjoys the pogo stick into your groin like sensation. Dunno why. The version you post is supposed to be the best, but it does change the axle to seat length (unlike most full suspension bikes) which may irritate your knee(s).

That's what I was wondering about. I'm calling the company today and ask about that. On MTBR.com. I read the reviews and some mentioned that when it compresses it moves backwards. So the length may stay the same just the angle changes. I will find out later today. I met Gonzo at the Red River Rally. I saw a guy wearing a Cave Run Bike Shop jersey I ask him his name,. He said, "Steve Collier." I told him I was "Creeping Death" on KYMBA. It's strange to refer to yourself as Creeping Death in public. Dave Hays chuckled(no pun intended) when I told him.

I have a rock shox post i will give ya for, oh, 5 bucks. if you want. when i ran a ht, i preferred the up n down to the down n back motion, but then i just got a FS and put the duct-tape fix away.

I called the Thudbuster place and they said was a back motion instead of up and down. So this could/maybe work with the gimpy knee I have. I was just giving it a thought, since the 2009 Cottongim family budget left out monies for a F/S frame. By cutting some funding in other areas I maybe able to find funds for a Thudbuster. The only reason I want one is in case I do a solo 12 hour race. Heck I don't know if any funds have been allocated for that.?
