Gojira, Two people broke collarbones on their roadbikes last weekend too. Do you consider road riding an extreme sport? |

| I consider road riding more dangerous than MTBing, always have. Too many things I can't control. |

I love that commercial for the TdF on Versus. "Speed your car up to 45 MPH, strip down to your underwear, and hop out the car, and then you'll know what it feels like to crash in a professional cycling race".

Posted By Sean Moore on 07/17/2008 11:08 AM Yeah, we rolled up on the crash at Hogans a few minutes after it happened... his friends had it under control but he was in some real pain. Didn't get his name, but I hope he's okay. On a similar note, has anyone recently gone up the Seneca golf course loop, after crossing the road on the downside of WTL, going towards the foot bridge? There is a foliage covered limb/tree hovering over the trail. I was in the lead, at full throttle, when I went under it. When my helmet hit, it was impaled by a 3-4 inch long spear (limb). After getting yanked off the bike by the strap, the lid split into about 4 pieces. I owe a debt of gratitude to Brad Goldberg and Eric Miller, who were right behind me, and made sure I wasn't bleeding too bad. Have fun, and be careful out there! Here is a pic of what was left of the helmet. send that thing off for warranty and see what they say...haha When i shattered a Bell a few years ago, they replaced the helmet, and sent me a "Saved By The Bell" embossed certificate with my name on it. It was nice to get a replacemnet.

Hey Steve, That was me talking to Scott Kuiper next to you at the accident. I was gonna say hey but, it was pretty bad timing. I'm just glad she is ok.... Also glad no one went down in the big PUDDLE of blood on the pavement.....
Shit happens ........ If not I wouldn't be here. MEK - glad to know you where there.
That was one horrible looking scene. The girls were so shaken up they didn't restart their race with the other women. Took me an hour to shake it off. Speaking of Scott - it's nice to have an orthopedic surgeon on the team :).
Clearly we need one!
Next time we'll definately have to connect. My next race is looking like Cherokee, then London then it's cross season.

Good advice. Limar has a "Crash Replacement Program" which I'm looking into. I've already purchased a new Limar 911 so I can get back on the dirt, but would still like a new road helmet.
Sorry about the dude's collar and shoulder bones... hope he isn't too discouraged to ride again.

She was pretty wigged out.

guilty. i was riding with steph a couple of weeks ago and did one of my stupid "look backs to see if the wife is okay" and when i turn around BLAM! fortunately i'm short so i only clocked the bottom of it. had i been average height i'd have less memory than i already have.
