I never understood why anyone would think it to be OK to swim in that poo-filled stream. I talked to some water quaity engineer person taking samples near Big Rock. Apparently, Louisville got hit (or will) with some big fine because they failed to take any steps to improve the water quality. Same thing for towns in Southern IN. There are so many open sewer lines that dump into Beargrass and the Ohio River. Anyone know why the creek on the seminary trail always runs no matter how dry it is or why it's always a lovely shade or dark mossy green? It's not a spring. That's for sure. |

The creeks just keep smelling more and more like sewer. I could have sworn I saw a few floaters.

| I'm sure Jerry (mayor for like the last 100 years) would be quick to point out, whatever it is, it's someone elses fault. |

| It's ironic that Louisville MSD use to be the poster child for the EPA a few years ago...and now they are one of the worst...paying fines everytime it rains basically. What's promising is that they are about to unleash a multitude of capital sewer and drainage projects...supposedly jobs totaling in excess of $30 million will be bid per quarter for the next 5 years. Still not enough IMO, but a really good start. |

If you are riding from Big Rock into Cherokee proper, it's underneath the Presbyterian Seminary before you hit the Bird Sanctuary trail. It's where you have to cross the rocky creek crossing or a very green, mossy covered rock. MEK loves this stream crossing... Or, meet me at 4:45 today at the WLT trailhead and I will show you. |

| Geez, there's only one creek crossing on that section of trail. It's much safer since the trail gnome rocked it up. |

| Yeah...it's great to go through that creek, then pull my bottle out of the carrier for a drink, only to get one of Andy's turds stuck in my teeth... |

| The green color that Jack was referring to is fluorescent dye. Either someone conducted a dye trace to determine an oufall or it was a prank. I thought maybe it was a Halloween related stunt at first, did a big double take. It starts at the Big Rock and starts clearing up about a mile downstream. |

holy crap, was out there riding with my dad today and I thought it was some halloween fun put up by the city... then I realized this city wouldnt do anything fun like that and figured someone from hillcrest wanted to take their lawn decorations just a tad bit further......
It didnt look dangerous though.... Funny thing is, it made the water look MORE CLEAR than before....
this is what it is

I can tell you that it wasn't planned by MSD or Lou Water Co. I met a MSD employee at Big Rock parking lot who was putting a gajillion signs up to not swim in the water. He indicated all the big wigs from his company were out and about over the affair and he was working overtime. I bet the prank was planned to draw attention to how bad the creek is..... |

| Well for what ever it is worth, the creek didn't smell as bad as it normally does. After I saw you Chuck, I saw a couple walking through the water. They had shoes on and were at a shallow part of the creek ie I could see there shoes, I was still surprised anybody would allow that water to touch them. |

| Hell behind soccer field there's a rope in a tree that they use to swing out and drop in the creek. I seen about 15 kids in it this summer. WTF |

A sewer main broke yesterday near Big Rock and the green dye was from a dye test. |
