I thought I would give everyone a heads up on whats going on at Cave Run. We are starting the process of dividing the trails. Each user group is submitting their proposals to the CRT group  for consideration. Once a agreement is worked out then the Forest Service will take that recommendation and make a decision on which group gets what trails. It should get interesting at the meetings.

Will any of the trails be multiuse? Or will all the trails be designated for a specific user group? I agree with you; that will make for some very interesting meetings!

Perhaps arming yourself with some of the press info about Brown County and O'Bannon Woods would be helpful to demonstrate what building (and properly maintaining) trails can do for a community's economy.

They could be multi-use, but in the Bikers proposal we have a total split. Not because we don't like them but because we recommended against them using any trails that were not sustainable for their use. Which were most of them.

Chris Ward posted here some stuff. Can't find it this second.

The hmba website has each trail listed, the most recent one on O'bannon was linked in that thread last week.

Here is a link with two articles on HMBA.org about eco-tourism. Hope this helps. Thanks to Gonzo for fighting the good fight. Keep us updated.
