Do not fight with an F150 while on a road bike. It never ends good
Well I guess I
have joined the ranks of the riders who have fought with a Ford and
lost. Well actually I'm extremely lucky. The bike took the brunt of the
impact. All I got was some pretty good road rash and some bumps and
bruises. I was at the end of a 21 mile loop that I ride after work
a few times a week. I was turning on to the road that I live on and I
gave a left hand signal. The 16 year old kid driving the truck said
that he didn't know hand signals and he thought that I was waving him
around. As I turned to go on to my road he changed lanes and hit me. He
knocked me 10 feet in the air and I landed on a split rail fence. He
just caught my rear wheel or things would have been much worse. I thank God that he was watching over me.
I
just hope that when I get a new bike that I will have the courage to
get back out there, thinking about how close I came to death has really
been bothering me the last few days. |

Glad you are OK. Now, you have to get back on the mtb. Not many F150s on singletrack. |

PR, they had insurance and they are supposed to be in the process of getting me a check for a new bike. I got an estimate at the bike shop Saturday and dropped it off an the guys house Sunday.

I'm ready Brad, shoot me an e-mail or call when you are coming this way. Look forward to seeing you again. I did get a new road bike out of this. I got a Giant Defy Advanced 1. It's sweet, Under 17 lbs with pedals. |
