I'm confused...if you can't login how did you post this?
To change your avatar...
Click on the "My Profile" link on the forum Click on the "Edit Profile" link Remove your old avatar Upload a new one Click "Update Profile" Wait a little while to see the change. User profile information is cached and can take a while to show your updates.
Lastly, we're working on a simplified site wide profile which will replace the forum only profile we're using now...so all of this will change in the near future. Hang in with us - it'll get easier and better shortly.

Got it, I was trying to change my avatar by clicking on my name... I have only been able to login by clicking the verification link in the original registration email that I was sent. Can't login by just going to the site and logging in directly. Thanks |

Yeah, that's more along the lines of what we're working on. A more "site wide" profile concept. Strange on the login. Try to login using this link and let me know what happens: http://www.bikeclicks.com/Login.aspx |

Got my login working, seems that I should have been using my "username" instead of my "forum" name. Oddly, my "forum" name was saved in my login box.
Anyway, its all good now.

Chuck,
To be the most intelligent man I know, your technological/electronic prowess leaves nothing to be desired. LOL All the avatars have to be "RE"uploaded. :P

I think my aspect ratio might be a little weird.

Kidding...sort of.
It looks like you've already figured it out...but we just made the switch from a forum based profile (and avatar) to a site wide profile and avatar. Just posted about it here:
http://bikeclicks.com/Communities/tabid/1934/forumid/164/view/topic/postid/7060/Default.aspx
There is even a cool new how to video about updating your avatar in the vids section.
Hang in there...we're almost done messing with ya. |

| Well, when I look at my page, I can see a picture of a man riding a very big wheeled bike next to my user name. However, when I post, I am still a person in a blue bubble. |

Noticed this too. I have it set to a width of 100 with no height so it "should" look right but it seems to be 100 x 100 no matter what.
I'll see about fixing this but in the meantime you might try changing your image to be a square.

btw - what are you guys doing here this close to midnight? I was trying to do this when you all were dreaming of singletrack. One more feature...you can click on an avatar and see that user's profile now. Soon I'll be adding the ability to add to friends, add to bikecliques, send messages and possibly; view other posts. |
