I have a message for all the Lexington-area BMX and MTB folks.

Lexington-area BMX guru Mike Mann is spearheading an effort to get a new BMX complex approved for Veteran's Park in Lexington and will be pitching the concept to the LFUCG Council at Tates Creek Ballroom on Monday night at 6 PM. We are hoping to join forces and demonstrate that off-road cycling is very popular - whether you're on 20" wheel or 29" wheels. Several ideas have been tossed around - from pump-track, dirt-jump, skills-park area to pure BMX. This could tie in very nicely with the new single-track proposed for Veteran's, so please come out and show your support.

UPDATE

meeting location:

1400 Gainesway Dr. Lexington KY, 40517 at 6:00 pm. It is called Tates Creek Balroom, but it is located at the Tates Creek Golf Course

Thanks everyone.

I see how it is, If you ride on 26" wheels your an outcast. Since when did the 29ers join forces with the 20" crowd to oust the middle wheel riders?

Veterans Park is more of a beginners trail, but it's the only game in town. So you got to love it.

Sorry Gonzo - should have said "and everything in between". I'm still rocking 26.

As for the freeride question, the new single track probably won't be, but if the BMX area takes off, then I could certainly see including stunts nearby.

Last but not least - Monday August 4th.

good questions. thanks.
