What's up with this? Can we start a southern or eastern region chapter?

| WHY?! Do you always have to be a seperatist? Based on all the responses there is obviously an overwhelming demand from the Hillbillies. Or should I say Hillbilly. |

Son, just come down here to the mountains, and we'll whip up on ya'll.
Out here where the men are manly, and the women are wild and beautiful.
(It ain't like those nky parks ya'll ride in. If anybody carried on in the bushes down here they would've already passed from the threatened/endangered list to extinction. Just sayin.) |

It's called mountain biking. It might make sense to have a Kentucky chapter where the actual mountains are. |

I drove through E.Ky...Wva, and N.C. coming back from Raleigh this weekend, and I must say, barring the 2 hours I spent waiting to get through one of the tunnels, all I saw was square mile after square mile of ball-busting opportunity... PR, is there a site where we can learn more about the trails and where they are? Trail maps etc...??? |

| There is no cohesive site up yet that I'm aware of. We are trying to get all of our trails mapped here in Jackson county currently; we have over 200 miles of existing trails, just in our county. There should be maps of the adv tourism stuff appearing soon. (There is a guy named Preston Mcclain (hope I got that right ) that is president of the e ky atv association, he is an amazing resource. Also a great advocate for trail access in ky. It would'nt suprise me if they don't already have alot of stuff mapped, and trail descriptions too.) Contact a regional USFS office for freebie maps of the Sheltoee Trace, and the Red Bird Crest trails. I travel with my mtb all the time, and wherever I'm at, I just go to a local hangout and ask where they ride atvs and horses at. There's usally trails within ten miles! Eastern ky has a myraid of trails, and you can find rides throughout. |
