| Me and the crew are chillin in Michigan after the Iceman. Big shout out to Ray for kickin ass along with Kiersta Tucker, R J , Gentle Ben and myself. great race and the weather held out making the course super fast. no rain, no mud not to cold and and all round good time. Superfan was in full force and entertained and offended the local crowd. Michigan riders would not stand a chance on Ky's east coast style rooty rocky twisty course |

Don't forget Mark... and I believe there was a Susan representin KY too...
The Iceman was a helluva race!!! I hope to be back next year!!! Light rain, sleet, and 40 degrees or less on a sandy course with most of the climbing in the last third of the 27 miles... what more could ya want!?!?!?
A few tips if you make it next year... - Stay in one of the cabins at Timber Ridge Resort - Use an extra clean lube (white lightening extra clean for example) the sand'll cover your chain - Take a piss before you start and pedal your ass off... this is a given for any race though!
This picture was taken just before we broke camp this morning ------\/ |

| Any photos of SuperFan at the race? I don't know if SuperFan only does off-road events, but it would be great if he was at the Tour De Georgia next year. |

I guess that's why they all have to ride 29ers. Superfan OUT!
P.S. bike polo sucks!

| Thought this maybe a good spot to ask this off topic question. I live in lower Michigan and just got back from iceman also. What is the Mountian bike riding and racing like in KY. I maybe moving to the henderson area soon. Where I live now I can be at 7 different trails with in 1 hour. everything from hills to sand to wicked single track. And I do ride a singlespeed 29er. |

| in henderson you'll be able to make it to 2-3 trails in around an hour, the best being the trails at land between the lakes, fast, twisty and rooty. the hardest being in Ferdinand IN, you're either going up or down at that place and it isn't very fun but it'll definitely get you fit. |

| Got better hills here in KY than in Michigan and that was clear on the first "hill" of iceman, where hillbilly riders started climbing past the flatlander racers - also noticed many iceman racers got a lot slower in the singletrack sections but there wasn't much of that. |

@ sowleman - The closest trials in the Henderson area would be Ben Hawes State Park (Rudy Mines), Grapevine Lake in Madisonville and Scales Lake in Boonville IN. I'll echo Rowbear on Ferdinand. Its tough. These are the most convenient. If you don't mind driving a couple of hours, the better trails are Sal Hallow at Mammoth Cave and Canal Loop at LBL. You can pick and choose your races between The KY Point Series, TBRA, and DINO. A few of the guys I ride with have ss 29er's. Give us a shout if you make the move. |

| I haven't ridden Ben Hawes,Grapevine Lake, Scales Lake or Ferdinand, but I've done most of the toughest trails in KY just fine on a SS 29er. Sure, I walk more, but not that much. |

| Thanks for the information guys. I will have to agree that the singletrack left alot to be desired at iceman. The ss29er is the only mountian bike I ride (sold everything else) no need to collect dust. I do alot of road riding and I spend alot of time on a fixie. When we make the move I will give everyone a shout. A group of us take a springtime vacation to gatlinburg TN. we are planning a change this next year and going to LBL. |
