We will be meeting in the main parking lot at 9am on Saturday 9/21. Metro parks will be there to. I have been told that there are between 30 and 40 blowdowns on the trails. It is a disaster. Our task is to remove as many of the blowdowns from the trail as we can. Metro parks will be handling the chain saw work, but from experience we will need a lot of help clearing the debris after the chain saw has been used. KYMBA will be providing tools, gloves and water. I would love to come out and help. I'm fairly new to Louisville and I've only been to Wavelery twice....by myself, so I'm not sure if I know where the main parking lot is?? Also, will there be any riding involved or is this strictly business? Thanks Gary

After you have gone up the windy road you will come to an opening, you will see a playground to the right. The parking lot is also to the right just past the play ground. It is not very big, maybe enought space for 10 or 12 cars. I will be in a tan toyota pick up truck. I plan to bring my bike, but rather or I ride depends on how much we can get done. Everyone is always welcome to join the post trail work ride.

Looks like there will be four of us possibly a 5th, plus 2 metro parks employees maybe 3. We should be able to get quite a bit done. Look forward to seeing everybody. Thanks again for your support. Chris

I would like to thank Eric, Gary Nathan and Metro parks for helping out on Saturday. We did make progress but there is still a lot of work to do. Metro parks is going to try to make it out this week. In the 3 years I have been involved with trail maintenance and riding mountain bikes I have never seen so many big trees down on the trails. On top of all of the trees being down debris and leaf litter covered most of the trail that we walked. We did rake most of the sections that we walked.
