Last time I MTBed with MEK he tried to kill me.
Not literally, I think he would have been satisfied with causing me a non-maiming injury.
We were riding along the ridge trail at Waverly. I was right behind him (he was going very slow). All of a sudden he grabbed what looked like a dead sapling and pulled it so it fell on the trail in front of me to cause me to ram it and probably endo.
Fortunately for me, the "dead branch" was a live very resiliant sapling. Instead of breaking, it sprung back, launching MEK like a catapult into the trees.
It was pretty funny.
Karma got him later in the ride when he fractured several ribs. I had nothing to do with that incident.
Anyway, that might be the real reason I don't show up tomorrow at 6PM by the tennis courts.
Or it could be that I've morphed tragically into a roadie and plan to do a 30 miler in the morning, which is half as stressful to my body as doing a 5 mile MTB ride in late afternoon. |
