Just wanted to let everybody know that ,after talking to Tom at the Mtn Bike Depot, he has decided to add kids races to the days events. It will follow the completion of the beginner race. The crew at the Depot, are really stepping up for the race, this year they have hired headfirst performance (insert joke here) to score the race with chip timing. Chip timing is the best, results are immediate and usually breakdown all the stats ie, average speed, time splits, lap times etc. very nice. better start hydrating now.

| Is there anymore race info available...course length...laps by classification...etc? None of that info was on the flyer. |

I will talk to Tom, and most likely make the start times closer to one another to avoid lap traffic. The loop right now is about 7 miles long. So count on 4laps expert men 3 laps sport men/ expert women/SS 2 laps beginner men/sport women and 1 lap for first timers and beginner women. Don't hold me to this but I would say this will be the format. I don't know what he has in store for Clydesdales.

21 miles of Wave Country for Sport Class? Ouch. It's gonna be harder than I thought. I did ride out there yesterday evening, first time in a while. A Big Thanks is due to the Trail Gnomes out there, I like what they've done. |

Of course it will not be ready for the race, we probably have a years worth of work to do on it.

Well, if not this year then I look forward to racing it in 2009.

We'll have the trails in PERFECT condition come race day. I bought me some fancy new snips to trim all the underbrush back that's taken over parts of the trail. I might take a float for mullet man/super fan to use in the pond, hell I might even join him.
21 miles for sport = death on 2 wheels
I"m thinking the race loop will be more along the lines of 6 miles to be honest. And to go along with rowbear, if it's a little warmer than last years race it will almost be ideal race conditions... |

I will have to get a mileage reading next time I'm out there but if it's a 7 mile loop I think 3 loops for sport is too much. If it's 6 then 3/sport 4/expert should be about right. Speaking of SuperFan there is a link to the "superfan" website on the kps site just click on the word SUPER or FAN next to his picture.

Nick and I rode Waverly last night. And I think I have a more reasonable race loop. basically the same as last year except instead of doing that last inside loop after the bonk bridge, just go left towards Start/Finish. This will cut out .85 of a mile, making the race loop 5.6miles long. Whaddayall think? |

| hey, me and a couple teammates from STL were thinking of coming to this race. we went to the Racer Rampage last weekend and although it was an awesome course and great event, we chose the wrong one in terms of attendance...
would you consider this course and turnout to be worth the trip?
sounds like it's a cool trail system.
thanks! |

thanks! Absolutely worth the trip. This course is super sweet and fast. got a few good climbs to keep you honest. turnout for this race is usually one of the best. Last week we had nearly 150 riders for the Cherokee race and this course is only 20 minutes away. I tell ya what. I can offer a free place to stay if you want to come down Saturday. just shoot me an email to kypointseries@gmail.com You won't regret making the trip for the waverly race.

Rusty, that makes sense, I was wondering what part you cut out, but now that I think about it that does make sense.

| Sounds like some folks have been adding some trails. IS the Montana climb still there or did you guys switchback the trail up the hill? Where is the new trail section located? A left at the bridge gets my vote, like i had one! I never did like that little section until you get to the top and come down through those sweet turns and actually carry some speed through the finish line, like you are a really fast rider!! |

I hope someday the rest of that climb will be reborn. The original goes up another 100 feet or so and the grade gets steeper towards the top. I miss that climb.

Rusty I agree with you on Montanna, it is part of what makes waverly. I never had the privalage of riding the who thing, it was closed when I started mountain biking. You just ask WAverly, apparently the park post on here now. :)
