I know you guys are busy removing technical features from the trails, handing out merit badges, and practicing your secret handshakes, but you left Cherokee a mess. Could one of you guys pull away from your secret clubhouse just long enough to remove the yellow tape and finish picking up the goo wrappers I missed from Cherokee? Or are you leaving that for someone who actually gives a Sh!t about our parks?

| KYMBA didn't really have anything to do with that race. The KY series and kymba are seperate orgs. |

Thanks for the note, but as Robert points out, the race series is not a KyMBA function. You can certainly contact the promoter or the sponsor of this weekend's race and tell them about the remaining tape and any other race-related litter you've seen. While moving rocks into place last night, we did collect some tape and a stake that was left over, so hopefully you'll be able to better enjoy your ride this evening. Again, thanks for your concerns and thanks, too for bringing your little drop o' sunshine to our lovely forums. We'll be sure to look for you at the trail work session on Saturday morning - please remember to bring your sash, as we will be handing out "keen-observation" merit badges after the work is done. |

| She is good as new. Loaded her back up about 15 minutes ago. Also, don't buy any hubs for the dolly, I think we have a set that will fit it. |

Well in the eyes of the land manager it doesn't matter who the race promoter is, they just know Mountain bikers had an event and littered the trails. It looks bad either way. I will say that the KYMBA races I have been involved with we go back and clean up the tape and any litter we find from the race. With that said, I don't think it is right for racers to think it is ok to litter because they think the promoter is going to clean it up.
Trail rules say leave no trace, this doesn't change for race day.
I hope that the problem is being blown out of proportion, we have a good relationship with Olmstead, not just KYMBA but mountain bikers, I hope that wasn't damaged for this one day event. |

I rode the whole race loop twice yesterday. I saw less than 5 carb packs but a bunch of yellow tape with the stakes. I picked up what I saw and was able to stuff some of the yellow tape in my pack. All this was done and I had nothing to do with the race.
A lot of complaining and less doing helps no one. If you see it pick it up. We're all mountain bikers, help the cause. I agree with CW, nothing changes race day or any day and all people know is mountain bikers did it.
Problem solved.
PS, bring my damn merit badge Saturday for helping pick up race trash!

Sorry that I was not on top of the trail clean up. I did go out monday late afternoon and collect the remaining visible course markers. It will get cleaned up maybe I'm a little slow. If Olmstead gets a little upset over a couple of stakes left out for 2 days then the donation of around 2 grand from the race should ease their pain. I am heading out there now.

| He certainly would not be my choice for public relations director... Always someone trying to stir the pot... Anyone that knows you Rusty, knows there are few in this town that are better advocates for trail riding... Some people are just miserable, and like to have company... |

It was so hot today that all of that trash just melted and fused with the seven thousand used condoms along the trails. I am told by a Olmsteader that said prophylactics are bio-degradable so we have nothing to worry about.
I once had to use one to patch a flat. What a bad ride that was...
BarryL you should leave Rusty alone. He has mad skillz son!

| Tim, Rilo and I cleaned up all the caution tape we could find underneath Hogan's Fountain. Several stakes were broken and we tossed those in the trash. There are several stakes still at the bottom of the same hill where the old gravel trail crosses the new. We stacked them neatly to make it look less like trash. We would have packed them up the hill, but we were all beat. |
