| I have a carbon fiber seatpost that I was thinking about putting on my mountain bike. I have broke 2 already, but they was older posts and could have been fatigued. I have got one that I was using on my road bike That's a year old, was thinking of putting it on my MT bike and trying it once again. Any of you guys run a carbon seat post? I weight 205, the post is extended quite a bit and I'm sure it gets a lot of pressure on it. My ol' pal John broke one recently came close to having a sex change. |

I"m 195 and wouldn't even think about putting a carbon seat post on the mountain bike. Now for a road bike, hell yeah.
So if it'll fit a road bike you should give it to me as I need one for my new C-dale. |

I wouldn't ride one on Mtb either. I had one one my old kona, but the way it flexed really scared me. Plus, I've heard horror stories of how they shattered into jagged edged slicers, targeting parts you don't want targeted. |

| The 2 that I broke cracked instead of breaking completely into. Lucky me. I have a rough looking thomson size 31.8 (or 31.6), just some scratches and a small dent. If anybody has a 27.2 they would like to trade. |

I'm 185# and running a CF seatpost on my Scalpel with no problems yet (1 year). But then again, I've also got short legs so my seatpost isn't sticking out very far. |

| i've been rocking a carbon easton zero offset seatpost since last fall. I went with the zero offset for reach reasons and also so their wouldn't be as much pressure on the post. It seems to be holding up fine so far. I'm also running a carbon fork and bars on this same bike that seems to be doing the trick as well. i've been as heavy as 230 on this bike but i wasn't riding it that often. now i'm down about 20 lbs and riding it a little more frequent (even took it to bump-n-grind this year) and it seems to be holding up to everything i'm giving it. Bump was probably the roughest course i've took it on. After the blood rock section its nothing but sharp baby head rocks bouncing you all the way down the mtn. |

Best of both worlds...Solid stability with the appearance of being cool. Now I feel cool whenever I ride. |
