are you guys hearing many in Louisville? Just outside Lexington there are crazy amounts. If I didn't know better I would think it's their year. Parts of the road that have canopies of trees have so many it's deafening, not to mention trying not to run into them, it was like I was playing starfox or galaga on my bike at times, swarms of them I tell ya. I had one hit me in the shoulder and it made me skeerd that one was going to get stuck in my chest hair (my jersey was unzipped). Next I guess it'll start raining frogs

yep, you're right creep, I always thought locusts and cicadas were the same but now I see that Locusts are just flying grasshoppers that we get every year especially in August.
