I've got a problem with my front brake. It's a 185mm Avid BB7. When I pull the lever all thge way (usually just when stopped) the caliper will actually lock on. Looking at it, it seems that the part of the brake that moves when the cable pulls is actually hanging on a bolt that's just behind it. I figure I jst need to tighten that bolt....but I can't figure out what it is, exactly. It looks just like a Torx T20, but it's got a weird little post in the middle so I can't put a T20 in there. I stopped by a shop today, and after some explaining they said they knew what I was talking about, but they didn't have a tool like that. I checked Lowe's, they didn't have anything either. Anyone know what I'm talking about or what I need to get? This is unsafe.

that is a safety torx bolt. You can get the bits at most mega hardware stores. The reason usually for a torx safety bolt is to discourage average joe's from tinkering with it. not that it has ever stopped me. I have a set of safety torx bits I will bring them to the Cap View race. I will be under the big orange Kona tent.

Awesome, thanks. I'll have to see if Sears or somewhere has them. I won't be making it back to KY until July, probably.

In case anyone is curious, the "Lisle" brand security Torx bots from Sears are very easy to twist into a spiral shape. And they cost $28 for a set. I think I may have to return them.
