How did you get into competitive non-competitive cycling?
I
actually came to cycling from the charity walk circuit. AIDS, MS,
ALS—you name an acrononymous disease and I walked for it. At first I
did it just to participate, but after finishing a few in the front
group I realized I had what it took to win. Taking the Nashville Cares
AIDS Walk of 2002 really pushed me over the top. Now I’ve got a trophy
room full of giveaway windbreakers, t-shirts, and water bottles that
would blow your mind.

i was waiting for a friend there at 4th and main (i think it was) and the cop was worthless. he didnt want to get out of his car or off his phne, and so some riders went straight, some went left, some cars stopped, others didnt, it was a mess. thanks to the many cops and traffic control officers who did their jobs beautifully, but to you mr. 4th and main, sorry you almost broke a sweat. no wait, pigs dont sweat do they. |

Wow, nice way for LMPD to handle the "Mayor's" ride. As someone who was hit by a car while riding my bike and then promptly blown off by the metro police (because I wasn't dead) I'm unforetunately not surprised.
BTW - MEK - sweet avatar.

| right on webguy. reminds me of the last time i was hit, the first thing the cop said upon arrival (half hour after the accident), looking dead at me and in his thick red-dog accent, "what did you do?" he also never filed the accident report. gotta love it. |

| i believe the reply was "apparently i left the house without a car." i had the gall to ride down a totally flat, empty street, the dude purposely broad-sided me. i mean "i dinnent see em, i dunt even think i 'it em." so then of course, i then had to call in the witnesses to prove i was actually hit by the moron. f- the po-po. so yeah i still have a chip on my shoulder about that one. |
