so i have finally found some sick mtb trails in SI, ny!! there pretty sweet too! I dropped in at the trail head at La Tourette Golf Course. I borrowed there parking lot for a bit. These trails are sick, single track, up and downs, a few wood bridges, and even some mud, and small stream crossings. There is even one part thats an amazing down hill. Then you head north and there is a cool climb that brings you to the top of a small mt. that allows you to see Great Kills Harbor and NJ. pretty amazing for SI! At this point i popped my tire and had to carry my bike out like a wounded solider, but even then i still saw more trails to ride across the street. This small island really does have its hidden gems. If you too now of any more trails in the tri-state area feel free to post. "tread epically"

Re: green belt trails
Man, I love riding NE trails. I grew up north of Boston and remember riding miles and miles of singletrack in Winchester Fells and then later in life trail systems built around fire roads in Maine. I rode some trails in CT last winter and they were far more technical than I remember from 20 years ago..
