50 miles (15-20 on the road) in 6 hours.  Spicer SS w/ 32x18 gearing.

Met up at Cave Run Bike Shop at 10AM, picked up some fuel, and rode out to Lakeview trail head.  Caught up with Pat Collins and company on their Limestone – Sheltowee loops.  Those trails were in great shape, but then...

So we’ve made most of the updates for our new improved BikeCliques and now we’re starting to see people use them.  Our team (BikeClicks.com/Team Louisville) volunteered (and I mean that in the “they were volunteered” sense of the word) to test our new BikeClique functionality early on.  We migrated from our other site and get everyone up and running pretty quickly.  I have to give the team a lot of props on this as we had a number of bugs and issues and hard to use stuff initially, and they all patiently waited and provided feedback and suggestions until we got everything sorted out.   Now, I think the entire team is using it daily and we’re communicating about everything from quick little “Who’s riding today” on our team “wall” to more in-depth conversations about training and racing in our forums.

So while we still have a few more functional improvements to make I think it’s time to start making the cliques a larger part of what BikeClicks.com is all about.  We still have separate communities forums...

About 30 miles XC, in around 3 hours on the Spicer SS running 32x17 gearing.

Early morning start was a bit chilly, but bearable thanks to Gene and his borrowed leg warmers.  Traffic was really low on the way in, but steadily increased as the day wore on.  The trails were in fantastic shape, with only a few easily avoidable puddles. We ran out of time before making it back up to Hesitation Point on our 2nd lap, which was a good thing since I ran out of legs about 5 miles from the end trying to keep up with Goldberg.  Needed to eat more and more often.

Some of biking's greatest legends were at Ray's INDOOR MTB www.raysmtb.com  last Saturday, March 7th for Subaru’s Legends Weekend.  It was an incredible opportunity to meet, ride, and hang out with true legends of the sport including Shaums March, Jeff Lenosky, Hans Ray, Aaron Chase, Kyle Ebbett, Dave Mirra, and Kenny Beleay!  Hard to believe but it's true, they were all there, having fun, spending time with the fans, and signing autographs.  Just to give you a feel for how cool it was this is how my first couple hours of riding went down....warm up on the pump track with Shaums March & Kyle Ebbett, head over to the Mongoose deck to ride the jump line with Jeff Lenosky and Aaron Chase, then I decided to ride some skinnies and there's Kenny Beleay going off!  At this point, I needed some more energy so I decided to get a Red Bull and I run into Hans Ray!  How sweet is that?  It was truly a legendary event.    In addition to getting to ride with all of the legends, Shaums...

Brad Goldberg, Jim Whaley

Around 50 miles on the road in about 4 hours.

Rolling, occasionally steep, hills at a medium pace.  Sunny but very windy and around 55 deg.  Headed out from Slugger Field right after Candice Goldberg finished the 10k.  Crossed the great divide (2nd St. bridge), and chased Jim and Brad up and down hills all day.  I have got to increase my climbing performance this year.
