Thanks for the early heads up Chris. Now I can make sure to keep that date open.(The January one that is , 'cause that was NOT an attempt for sarcasm) It's great to see this project getting some lift under her wings.

Lets make sure to plan on about 30 minutes to hike down and see one of the 20 foot waterfalls. There is one just below the current work site.

Looks like the cold temps will hold out through the weekend. There is no bailing out due to cold temps! If the ground is too frozen to bench cut, we will focus on gathering rocks for armoring projects. The North Fire Tower Trail has at least 10 wet spots that will need armoring and we found two underground springs on the connector trail last work session. Gathering rocks is the hard part and it is nice moving rocks while the ground is frozen.

Having frozen ground will make it easier to hike down and see the areas the Adventure Trail will go.

Good news! Thanks for that info Paul. I am sure people were wondering. Count me in, regardless of temp

I agree with Paul, there are plenty of rock projects to work on if ground is too frozen for digging. I think we can get a lot done by focusing a trail day on the various rock projects that Paul has mentioned.

We have one wheel borrow that I will bring that may be helpful in moving rocks.

The plan is to meet in camp ground A at 10 am.

Thanks for everyones interest in O'bannon Woods!

More than a good chance I will be riding beforehand. Let me know if anyone wants a tour. It will be cold!

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 3.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 21.

We are still game on for this weekend at O'Bannon. Even if snow and frozen ground prevents much trail work, we will then just spend more time exploring. The group dorm is a go and the park will be beautiful with some snow on the ground. There are a number or interesting areas on the topo map that we haven't explored yet. Sending some recon teams out will help the trail layout process.

Its important that we get a good turn out to get mountain bikers up to speed on the potential of this property and to get everyone familiar with the place.

Looks like us northerners are looking forward to the warmer temps in southern Indiana. We are bringing a leaf blower and are going to clear rocky ridge on Saturday. So come on up and ride and hike. We will be staying at the group dorms.

Alex will be down Saturday morning to start flagging trails.
