Welcome Jennifer Cvar a month ago Jennifer CvarHey Ladies, (I am a new female promoter in Indianapolis....just wanting to spread the word about a new race I am putting on this weekend......see message below.)
This Saturday (August 21) marks the inaugural running of the Indy Criterium Cycling Race and we hope you can be part of the day's events! Staged in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis, the Indy Criterium is a classic criterium course that features some of the most highly recognized landmarks of our city. Rarely is there an opportunity like this to race on the city streets of downtown Indianapolis!
The Indy Crit will feature a completely closed 0.7 mile course, varying in width from four to six lanes, almost half of which is newly paved! The course will lead you onto the bricks of Market Street with a quarter loop around Monument Circle, the very soul of our city. This event is held under USA Cycling permit.
And best of all, 100% of the event proceeds will go to benefit Freewheelin' Community Bikes!
So check out our website or better yet, pre-register now on Truesport.com. http://www.truesport.com/register/e...sp?ID=1286
Suzanne WebsterHi Jennifer - Welcome to Bikeclicks & Skirt rides. Best of luck with your event - thanks for letting us know about it & posting up here!
Sherri ThompsonDarn, I don't think I got this. Hope you had a great turnout.
Suzanne WebsterSherri - because you're a member of this group, you should be able to get everything that's posted in here sent to your email ... you might want to double check & make sure you're subscribed (cause you can pick & choose what sorts of notifications you get). If you click on the "Subscribe" button at the top of this page, there will be a drop down list from which you can choose which notification you'd like to get as an email. You can do that for all your cliques on BikeClicks. I think Jennifer posted this race in several cliques - sorry you missed it. :-(

 | Skirt Rides All - Please keep Niki Dallaire in your thoughts this morning, she was hit by a car last night and is currently in surgery at UofL. about 3 months ago | | - Show all 7 comments
Suzanne Websterok, word is that she is out of surgery, still being watched closely - suffered broken ribs, concussion and some internal tears resolved through surgery. Will pass along more as I learn it.
Suzanne WebsterFrom Lesley McShane's FB post: Niki is out of surgery, in recovery and waiting for a room. Doctors report that they have repaired the bowel damage and that she will make a complete recovery. No word on the leg except that it's not broken. She has a severe concussion and facial trauma as well, so she hasn't really been coherent. Best news is that she is alive - Please be thinking of her, her mother and Rob
Pam DavisThanks for the updates Suzanne. Definitely keeping her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.
Suzanne WebsterFrom Rob via PurpleRides: niki is recovering well, sleeping a lot, but wakes to talk every now and then. she is at university hospital rm 927. don't feel obligated to visit, but definitely feel welcome if you want to. i have either read all e-mails and texts or listened to voice mails. just don't have the time to respond to all - that's a great problem to have, because there have been a bunch. thanks for thinking about her and sending a note. she is already stating how bored she is. when the surgeons woke her up in recovery to check her out and ask some questions it took her about a minute to ask when she could start riding again - they were rather stumped. it was funny to see about 3 or 4 surgeons looking at each other in confusion for an answer. all that one guy could come up with was not while you're still here. not out of the woods, but looking better. rob
Barbara SaiveThanks Suzanne. I have her in my thoughts and prayers.
Suzanne WebsterJust got back from visiting Niki ... she is one tough chick! (Like y'all don't already know that!) She can't remember anything - which is probably a good thing - one minute she left work & the next thing she remembers was tubes being put in her nose (post-surgery). She'll be there for about 4-5 days. Will continue to keep y'all posted. She's tired & beaten up, but she is HERE! I gave her a big hello from the Skirts - she's already thinking about CX training rides for all of us and planning on watching the TdF from the trainer with a pillow strapped to her tummy. Like I said, one tough chick.

 | Skirt Rides Quelle surprise ... this evening's forecast is entirely different from this mornings. It would seem the threat of rain is gone - Skirts ARE rolling. See you there! about 3 months ago | | Suzanne WebsterAnother great night of riding ladies! We had 4 newcomers to the ride and a bunch of regulars - great group. Thank you all for joining the rides & passing the word along ... see y'all next week.

 | Skirt Rides Skirt Ride - Time: 5:00PM Monday, June 28
- Cycler's Cafe
- the usual gig ... see you there! If weather looks questionable, check back here to confirm we're still rolling. Wet roads or active rain cancels ride. If either look very imminent at ride time, we call it as well.
