Old Fat Bastards

http://www.bikeclicks.com/Old-Fat-Bastards
The Old Fat Bastards BikeClique was created in March 2009 and currently has 15 Members.
If you are fast, look good in Lycra, and drink Michalob Ultra, this is not the group for you! But If you love to ride to get away from the wife and kids, love to drink and smoke while you ride, have to tape up something like a knee, wrist, or ankle before your ride, and are just as likely to ditch the ride if a case of Fat Tire shows up, this is your group! Skinny little racers need not apply, because I personally will beat you with a frame pump. Oh, I must add that you must have a bitter outlook on life, love old rock and roll. If you think you qualify please join me for a ride. Fisbee Field, 3:00, I know it early, but who cares, if your not old and semi retired your not invited anyway. Post ride at Cumberland, or Rich-Os. Peace Out

  • jason price ok just read the comments over the last few months, i am going to pull the trigger and get a ride together, this monday night, we will start at 6pm start at big rock ride for a bit then go drink at cumberland for more hours than we rode, if you have the gutts (pun intended) to take on this ride be there, if you don't then stay away, we don't want you there, you skinny little spandex sh*thead, and if I ever here the word race on this group again (other than talking about a bike part) I will take your bike short over the back of your head so far that you will think you have dyslexia as you read the "care for" label upside down

  • Paul Rose Hey WebGuy. Delete me off of this site. Any and all cliques that I might have managed to join. The rest of ya'll, come see me sometime.

  • Paul Rose Guys, this is the least intuitive website that I have ever tried to use. I used to get on kymba 5-6 times a day. Now I check this site about once every 5-6 days. It's a shame. If ya'll ever need to contact me asap, try me through sheltoweetrace.com or kywilderness.com. It goes without saying; any and all of you guys are welcome at my house. (Even Kersting and Bailey!) If the sun ever shines, we need a group ride weekend somewhere. OFB's rule.

    • Steven WebsterPaul, if you would stop complaining and actually give me some feedback (which I've asked for a lot from you) then we're happy to improve things. That said - you seem to be able to get on and complain just fine.

    • Paul RoseSuuuuuuuure, let me figure out where to start.

Actually, I'm a real short timer on here. Once I get my kymba dues paid for the year, and get some solid contacts for kymba info, I'll unregister myself. Since this site is just totally filled with people posting now, I won't be missed. Most importantly, I won't miss it either! Wish I was web literate enough to get a kymtnmtb website up for my neck of the woods. I may start a facebook site like the boys in London have.

      Happy trails.

  • Paul Rose I feel like an OFB for sure this morning. I think I might roll around our driveway in granny gear today. Being old is so much fun. Bet it gets even better later on too.

    • Charles FaulknerChuck says he doesn't have anything on you as a sandbagger LOL. I am hoping to get out for a little road ride tomorrow. Its way too wet up here to ride in the woods with all the snow melt. Have to work down in Knoxville today, but I am going to try and get a quick ride in on my SS before I leave to head back up to the Gap. Seems like you just have to go hard when there is a break in the weather cause it could be back to snow again next week.

  • Paul Rose It says that I"m a member of the 40plus group, but I can't get on the damn thing. Love this new site for sure. Charles, what is the long run race?
    • Steven WebsterPaul. You should be able to get in now. That clique was created before the upgrade...the number 40 and the plus sign are illegal characters for the new clique names....so I changed it to Forty Plus. PM me anytime you need support.

PS - Long Run is our team's race. It's a circuit race at Long Run Park on the 13th. First road race of the Spring Series.

  • Charles Faulkner Sounds like a plan. My son and I hope to get up to Louisville in the next couple of weekends if the weather breaks. We are going to participate in the Long Run race and want to check out the course. Depending what we do and the weather we may be up for a Sunday ride on the way home too. Lets keep an eye on the weather channel for an opportunity.

  • Paul Rose Bailey, you'll always be eligible. Unless you start getting younger! Charles, I'm game for a ride anywhere. If we can find a place that the sun actually shines. How about an O.F.B. spring ride/gettogether????

  • Andy Bailey Will I lose eligibility if I lose twenty more pounds (down eight right now)? Still, I may get skinny but I'll always be a slow-butt chicken pooper.

  • Charles Faulkner BSF would be cool. I have only been there once and want to go back w/ my 29er 1x9. I may want to race there later this summer and that would be a great chance to scout it out.

  • Paul Rose Chuck is the #1 sandbagger in the history of Ky Mtb racing. Or of mtb riding in general. I went to B'ville a bout two weeks ago and he worked on my junker (mtb) for me. We raced against each other for years, and we raced together for years. I miss laughing at him. If it dries up, we'll have tp plan a trip to BSF, or to Haw Ridge.

  • Charles Faulkner I know Chuck, but we have not ridden together yet. I think he is still rehabing his knee so this would be my chance to ride w/him and be able to keep up. We have been out on the roadies whenever its no too wet or cold for the ride. Lately we have had too much rain/snow around here to get on any trails. I am reminded by folks that it is January afterall and the weather is supposed to be awful. That does not make it any easier to accept though.

  • Paul Rose Hey. I'm not too fond of this site in general right now, but maybe I'll feel better in the company of other old grouchy guys. If you're a member of this, you are welcome at my house. I bet I could find a cold beer without too much trouble. I really cased it in at Turkeyfoot about two weeks ago. On a ten degree night ride by myself. Busted my right leg hard. About 5 days out, I got to where I could hardly walk. I'm now at one dr visit, and three chiro visits. Think I might drag the mtb back out today. Charles, do you ride any with Chuck C? He lives in the gap now. I'll get down your way for a ride sometime.

  • Charles Faulkner Got the Christmas lights taken down in time for a short ride yesterday. It was great, a little 10 mile loop ride around the Cumberland Gap-LMU area just to get the blood flowing. All rain today, but I may have a chance to get out again tomorrow. Picking up the road bike has been a great diversion for the days when it is too soggy to ride in the woods around here.
